First Time @
Salem First Presbyterian Church
We are a full inclusion community of ordinary people experiencing and embodying God's extraordinary love.
Salem First Presbyterian Church has been a part of the Salem Community for 150 years and counting. We are a safe community of faith for those who are anywhere on their spiritual journey. Whether you have grown up in church and are looking for a place with Christ-centered, justice-focused theology or have been rejected by churches in the past and are wary of organized religion we strive to provide a space for you to interact with God.
No requirements. No barriers. We welcome and accept people from all backgrounds and identities with no expectations besides being here. We are excited to get to know you and see you on Sunday!
Sunday Celebration @ 10:30am
Our worship blends traditional, non-traditional, and contemporary worship styles to make a unique worship experience. On a typical Sunday, we have a liturgical call and response, collective reading of Scripture, and a mix of choral music, organ-led hymns, and a cutting edge worship band. Add in small snacks and coffee with seating focused around tables we strive to create an environment to engage and connect in worship while making sure there are no barriers for anyone to be a part of our community.
We have a church-wide education hour that we call Faith & Action at 9am. We have classes for elementary-aged kids and middle school youth during our Faith & Action hour. We encourage high schoolers to join our main adult classes. During the service, we provide time for the family to join in worship together and then provide the opportunity for any elementary-aged kids to go with our leaders upstairs and have their own message and engage with God in their own way.
Our NextGen Ministry is designed for the younger age ranges of those who visit Salem First. NextGen Kids is for elementary-aged and younger kids to have a space for themselves during the service to learn and explore in a more kid-friendly environment. NextGen Reach is our middle and high school-aged group designed to be a space of community and growth. Reach happens on Sunday nights for middle schoolers from 4:30-6pm and for high schoolers from 6:30-8pm.
We are here to answer any questions you may have. Whether that is about where to park, when would be the best time to show up, or if we have any coffee recommendations (we do) let us know and we will get back to you to make your first experience here the best it possibly can be.
